Ella Erdahl: Editor-in-Chief
Ella is a fourth year from Minnesota studying Comparative Literature, Hispanic Studies, and Creative Writing at Oberlin College. Aside from The Synapse, she also teaches Spanish in the local elementary school and engages in the performing arts. She likes hiking, drinking coffee, and reading, but usually only does one or two of those at a time.

Haimanot Assefa: Managing Editor
Haimanot is a junior at Denison University studying global health and biology on the pre-med track. She wants to pursue medical school or epidemiology in the future with a focus on women’s health. In her free time, Haimanot likes to garden, hang out with friends, watch Studio Ghibli movies, go to the gym, or sleep. She aims to make The Synapse more well-known on Denison campus before she graduates.
Calvin McMurtrey: Community Liaison
Calvin is a senior studying biology with a chemistry minor on the premed track. He hopes to study medicine after he graduates and do direct patient care. He helps run the Oberlin Tennis Club on campus and works on The Synapse. When he has free time, he enjoys climbing, biking outdoors, and watching sports, especially soccer. He likes exploring Oberlin's campus, especially in the springtime.
Ingrid Cassel, Chief Layout Editor
Ingrid is a fourth-year majoring in Neuroscience & Comparative Literature and minoring in East Asian Studies & Linguistics, set to graduate in Fall 2024. After Oberlin, she plans on applying for post-bacc Neuroscience programs and then going to graduate school to study language development. Along with working at The Synapse, she enjoys playing violin/piano, working at the Conservatory Library, and playing cozy video games.

Megan is a third-year student from Orange County, California, majoring in biology and psychology with a minor in chemistry and a neuroscience concentration at Denison University. After Denison, she hopes to further her education and do research on drug addiction to help people. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, hiking, reading, and working at a restaurant in town.

Maria is a senior majoring in Biochemistry with a Philosophy minor. She is involved with Kappa Alpha Theta, Medical Volunteers, Club Sports such as volleyball, tennis, and soccer, and The Synapse!
